Windows won't allow password change in 2nd user account?

I have a Panasonic FZ1000 camera that is wi-fi capable. However, I'm having the worst time getting the PC and camera to pair, as have many others. One suggested workaround was to disable "Password protected sharing" in the control panel's Advanced Sharing Settings. However, windows won't let me do this because (to the best of my knowledge) I would first have to remove the password from my Guest user account. I have tried numerous times to do this, but unsuccessfully. Here's what's happening: I enter the Guest account using its proper pw. In the control panel, I get to the "remove your password" screen. Here there is a field asking for my current pw. I enter the pw used to gain access to the Guest account and get the message that "Windows cannot change the password." BTW, "Password protected sharing" can't be disabled in the Guest account, either. Help please.

Hi I think you need to be logged into an administrator account then in the user account select manage another user account and can remove the password. Can't do it with a guest account.

Doesn't seem to work, but I'm not sure if I did it right. Here's what I did: I logged into my main account, which is a administrator account. But nowhere to be found was the Guest account, nor any indication that I could remove its pw??? BTW, There are only two user accounts: One administrative and the other Guest, both have pw's. I also followed the Windows7 tutorial (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/151258-user-account-password-remove.html) and when I got to "What do you wan to change about the guest account," there were only two options (change picture and Turn off the guest account,) and that was it...No "remove pw"

can you try just turning off the guest account and see if that helps you for what you want to do.

A reasonable thought, but I have Windows HP and you can't turn off (disable) a user account, but you can delete it. However, I need to use this user account and don't want to delete it. I wouldn't mind deleting it and then establishing a new user account, but I can't do that. I've got some kind of computer glitch that won't allow me to establish a new user account. I can get an account, but can't log into it...another whole issue.

Are you sure the account you are using is an Administrator account? Sounds like it's not. What does Control Panel, User Accounts show for the account you are using. Does it say Administrator?

Yeah, when I go into the control panel to change user accounts, the icon with my main account gives the username and says "Administrator."
