Windows XP: Kill it, bin it, upgrade it

Except to persons using XP or to MS itself, why should anyone care whether XP continues or not? If a person is happy with the OS that they are using, how does that effect a person using another?

Don't be silly.

The Computer world is constantly advancing. Just 10 years ago we didn't have things like Blu-Ray, Smartphones were only for the very rich, Quad Core CPU's were a pipedream, the list goes on.

Do you really think the computing world will just stop? There will always be a need for bigger and better OS's unless we technologically regress.

I really hope so... at least for me is getting a bit old that we are getting 6-8 or more (real - no hyper threading) cores instead of more Mhz... just because nm manufacturing issues (not able to do something below 32 nm... and not even talking about AMD... besides is my favourite processor manufacturer... they are still stuck on 45 nm, while intel is not at 32 nm, but not the main point here though)

About blue-Ray... the good improvement was native support on 7, but any 3rd party app could handle that anyway, you just need HD hardware capabilities in order to work fine.

Unless we start to see more demanding apps (like a new Photoshop CS10 that requires 4 GB of RAM as minimum... which sounds rude to me ¬¬) I guess we are getting the top -we are not at top yet, but reaching it...- Only heavy gamers and people that makes heavy renders on 3d or calculations might get any advantage... I may be wrong though, but just my opinion... Computing will never stop, but needs to think where they are going... as we are now, looks like a war of selling new hardware for the non-experienced user...
