Hi.
Can someone please give me a definitive answer as to what "Winservice.exe" is. It's showing up in my Boot (Win 7 64 sp1) taking up to about a second out of it. Not much I know, but what is slightly worrying is not knowing what it is. It doesn't seem to belong to Microsoft. Everywhere I search just gives a variety of different answers, from Trojan to necessary service.

Here's hoping.

Andy.

Hi Andy

There is no definitive answer. You can get a better idea by eliminating the possibility of malware by running malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes : Download free malware, virus and spyware tools to get your computer back in shape!

If nothing is found, and the file is located in C:\windows\system32 it is probably a system file.

Is there anything else going on? Like is you anti virus not working, or are they problems with certain applications, etc?

Hi, thanks for the reply.
MSE up to date, and regular Malwarebytes scans. I can't find it in the system32 file but it turns up as an application in:C:\Windows\SysWOW64. whatever that might be.

I wouldn't have known it was there, but for "Soluto" identifying it in the boot sequence. There doesn't seem to be anything untoward happening, so I guess I will just have to live with it.

Thanks again.

Andy.

Thought you were 32bit hence the system32. Seems like you have a handle on it and it may be just a one off.
