Winsxs folder? Can or should I delete?

This folder is taking up a lot of room and I am wondering if it is safe to delete the contents of it - winsxs?

Also the size shown for the Component Store is confusing, a lot of entries displayed are systemic links and report the size of the linked file, and are actually just a few bytes in reality

There is a function in dism++ which does it. It uses the win10 cbs engine and seems to be somewhat similar to the component store cleanup ( or whatever it is called in win10 )

I have used it with no ill effects but similar to the win10 thing you wont then be able to uninstall any previous updates.
