Has anyone had any luck running Hauppauge WinTV PVR 350 (or 250) in Windows 7 x64? I'm running build 7068 by the way.

I've tried installing the drivers regularly, in XP Compatibility Mode, and in Vista Compatibility Mode without any luck. I've also tried installing the latest WinTV 7 using the above method without any luck.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

I know Hauppauge has been dragging their feet supporting 64 bit, I'm just hoping there's another solution.

Hi there
try the Hauppage site -- there's a Windows 7 section for their tuners on their Forums.

I've got a Hauppage HVR-1110 -- this has NEVER worked in W7 until build 7100 (x-64) -- then like magic it worked fine (download the latest WinTV7 from Hauppage site version 1.1).

Install in VISTA SP2 compatability mode.

Had no problem with WMC but I want to use Composite input as well as the TV -- WMC won't allow you to do this unless you have their remote ???.

Hmm...it doesn't look like its possible to run Windows 7 x64 with a PVR 250 or 350 from what I've read.

Time for plan B - making a virtual drive, installing XP on it and trying that.

That won't work.
VM's are a great way of getting legacy hardware like scanners / printers to work as well as old "Officy" type software like old accounting pacakges etc, but Video which needs to communicate directly with the hardware is another issue. Dual boot is the only solution with a "Real" XP machine.

Incidentally the 64 bit restriction doesn't always apply even if Hauppage says it does.

Install WinTV7 version 1.1 in VISTA SP2 compatability mode . You need the RC build I think to get the VISTA SP2 compatability option. Then it should work.

Are you using 4GB or more of RAM? It will work with x64 as long as you limit the RAM to less than 4GB (4095MB, for example)

Yes, I have 4GB ram. How do I reduce the RAM to 4095? I am assuming you are not referring to virtual memory with is already set to 4094.

Also, which drivers did you install to make it work?

Select the start orb and type msconfig. Then select the boot tab. Then advanced options. Check the box marked maximum memory and then enter 4095. Actually, it should come up with the memory you have total and you can just reduce it by 1.
I just let Windows update install the drivers.

Got an email from Hauppauge over a year ago stating that my PVR 350 would not play well with any CPU with more than one core. Not directly related to the OP, but - if true - worth bearing in mind.

Well, it personally drives me crazy when I read posts about people who resolve their issue without posting how/what they did, I figured I'd update this thread.
I never got the ol' 350 working on Windows 7 64 bit, and I didn't want to revert to the 32 bit version since I have 8GB of RAM installed. So, I purchased a HVR 2250 which works fine on W7 64 and plays nice with the cable box I have it hooked up to as well.
