Wireless Adapter not working

I have a Canyon CNP-WF511 that just will not work.
It installed on Windows XP and ran fine but now windows
now installs the drivers and thats it. Nothing else. The
card doesn't appear on the list of network cards. Then
though after a few restarts it asks for the drivers again.
Also the card says it supports Windows Vista. So im
supposing that it will work on windows 7. My old graphics
worked of Vista drivers so I don't see why this card
can't. The computer does recognize that there is a card
though.

Any help?

I tried the drivers but it now can't find the drivers for the Network Controller

LAN (Network) Drivers would come with the Motherboard CD, if on-board LAN.

You might want to check the Motherboards website to see if they have W7 drivers for your motherboard.

Is this Canyon NIC a second connection?

It is an additional card if thats what you mean by second connection. My onboard LAN works but just this wireless adapter doesn't.

Is this an issue of the device not being recognized by the OS, or of a installed device that does not work?

If it is a wireless adapter that will not work, you may need to do some configurations: Windows 7 Wireless Adapter Configuration

If it is a device not recognized by W7, then

• Go to Device Manager > Remove (uninstall) the device, Turn off the computer - disconnect the power, and remove the card.
• Restart the computer > make sure the on board LAN is recognized and functional > Do a System Restore to a date before you attempted to install the card.
• Create a new Restore Point > then attempt to reinstall the wireless card - carefully following the installation instructions.

For some brands of network cards it is necessary to install the driver package first - and then shut down and install the card. Check to see if this is required with your card.
