Looks not so much to worry to me...
it happen often it does connect straight away & sometimes with 5" delay. Could be some services delaying it at start up because it launches.

Are all your other PC's Windows 7. I have this problem to, but i just tend to use a bit of patience, its only 5 to 10 seconds. It still connects either way

I have simillar problem of delayed connection

It is not just seconds but some minute or more to wait. Initially it shows on icon the sun, or limitted connectivity. It stays for a while, and seems only after some time it has new attempt, when it does connect.

It is irritating, can somebody help?

There is no magical fix for this problem.

About all you can do is reset the router and or reinstall the wireless network drivers. Instead of using one of those wireless connection softwares that come on the CD use the Windows 7 wireless connection wizard to set up the connection again using WPA2 security with AES encryption which tends to work best with Windows 7. That will fix problems like this 90 percent of the time. :)
