Wireless connection but no internet access Windows 7 Ultimate

Holly cow!!! you did it! That did the trick!!! Nice!

But is it possible that it is only a solution for this particular connection and router? Cuz I also make connections at other places to other routers and networks.

Anyway, I'm already relieved I can use my own home network, thx guys!

Oh no!!! I rebooted and it doesn't connect anymore...

Wauw, okay, now it reconnected, but it's called "telenet-3C02C 2" , next to "telenet-3C02C" that is still not connected...

When did this start to happen? After a update on a driver or something?

Also does it not connect to any other network either?

Well, now I can get on the internet. But through a connection called "telenet-3C02C 2", some kind of duplicate from the original "telenet-3C02C" wireless network of my providers router (the one I seem to be able to connect to, but don't get internet access with).
When I try to connect to the "Telenet Homespot" wireless connection for example (which I should be able to access) I get the 'connected, but no access'-problem. So it doesn't seem to connect to an other network. But I will wait until tomorrow to test it on an other network.

And yeah, it happend after I upgraded my Avast!-antivirus progam to a new version...

Hmm Strange. Basically it just seems like it's not able to pull the information to connect to the router. Try and disable you Anti-Virus firewall. At least you know that it isnt a problem with you Network card. Also you can connect to your home internet. But try disabling the firewall.

Well, one of the first things I did was completely remove Avast!. So no firewall interference from there.

Then when I go to the "System and Security"-section of the control panel and go to the "windows firewall", I don't seems to be able to change anything about it. It always give a error. When trying to "Customize Settings" I only can choose for "Use recommened settings" and when I do click that it gives this error: "Windows Firewall can't change some of your settings Error code 0x80070424"
When trying "Advanced Settings" I also see an error-message: "There was an erre opening Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in" " The Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in failed to load. Restart te Windows Firewall service on the computer that you are managing. Error code 0x6D9"
But I don't know how to restart the Windows Firewall service...

That code (0x80070424) is normally missing Registry key missing/Corrupted. Anyways to restart the windows firewall

Start - type in the search bar "services.msc" and hit enter.

Scroll down near the bottom. You should see windows firewall. Right-click and click restart.

But windows firewall should not have anything to do with this. But do it anyways.

I had the same “No Internet Access” problemwhile "Connected" through my wireless connection on my laptop. I read so many postsand websites regarding the issue, and it all boiled down to corruptedDHCP Client Service Dependencies drivers, namely afd.sys andhttp.sys, that prevented it from starting and connecting properly tothe DNS server and obtaining a dynamic IP Address from the DHCPserver. AFD —Ancillary Function Driver— for Winsock is a coredriver for networking and Internet communications that gets targetedby malware programs, and when anti-virus programs remove malware, AFDgets corrupted, and maybe NetIO Legacy Support drivers, e.g. TCP/IPdriver, namely tcpip.sys. It is a common problem.

CAUTION: Before you startaltering your system, please make sure to create a restore point.

Here is the fix:

Go to Device Manager andclick on View on the main menu and Show hidden devices on thedrop-down menu. Then, in the pane below the main menu, go to theNon-Plug and Play Drivers list and expand it. Look for any driverthat is flagged for problems. I had afd.sys and http.sys flagged asthey were corrupted.

You need to replace thosecorrupted drivers in the “C:\windows\systems32\drivers\” folderwith fresh ones. I extracted mine from Windows 7 Professional 64-bitInstallation DVD—I found a great tutorial on how to extract filesfrom Windows 7 Installation DVD here

Note: It is crucial toobtain/extract the corresponding drivers to your type of Windows 7Installation, mine is Professional. It is all explained in the abovereferenced tutorial. You will need to “take ownership” toreplace the drivers—I found a great tutorial on how to takeownership in Windows 7 here

and followed Option Onefor speed. You can follow the option that suits you better. (Makesure to replace and not keep a copy of the corrupted files whenprompted.)

Once those DHCPdependencies drivers are replaced with the right fresh ones and thesystem is rebooted, your machine is set to go.

Preventive MaintenanceNote: Once your system is up and running, create a restore point.
