Wireless Latency Spikes - DOTA 2

Suffering lag spikes every 10-15 seconds or so making the game near unplayable. This only happens when I unplug from the router and go straight wireless. I'm sitting less than 10 feet away. No obstructions. Road Runner Extreme (30 down, 5 up). No issues while hardwired.

Just moved into a house from an apartment and they gave me a new router. That's the only thing I can think of. Changed channels, elevated router, Max output.

Thoughts?

Hopefully someone can give you a better answer, but wireless is never good for gaming. If you need to move, get a longer ethernet cable.

I would not be trying to seriously online game wirelessly either, you will rip your hair out, eventually, if it's not already.

I await all the 'it's no problem' for me responses.

I won't even go wireless mouse or keyboard.

CAT 5/6 cables can be very long, so do whatcha gotta do! :geek:

Hey RocketsFan I had the same problem man I normally play League but all my friends wanted me to play DOTA2 for some reason I was getting the same problem with the lag spikes but 3 days later my Wired network cable came and I started to play on a wired connection this helped me in every game and even more in DOTA I stopped getting the lag spikes :)!
Regards,
Andrew
