Solved Wireless problem (finding my connetion)

Hi everyone!

As I was looking through some Google results for solving my problem I stumbled upon this forum and wanted to be a part of it.

Now, my problem:
My new computer has a built-in wireless adapter. Both the first time and the second time I started my computer, things worked out like a charm. But now I just WON'T work. It says there is no nearby networks. Still my laptop (XP Pro) finds some nearby networks... weird!

This is what I've tryed:
Restart computer (several times)
Restart my router (several times aswell)
Listen to bad phone support (twice)

It says I have the latest drivers too, so what could possibly be wrong?! =(
Maybe I managed to disable some setting or somewhat. Or could it be some installed program that maybe want to make my life a misery?

My computer:
Proc: AMD Phen X4
WLAN: 11n
OS: Windows 7 Home Premi
Motherboard: nVIDIA GeFo 9100

If there's anything else I could provide in information way, please just shout.

What kind of router do you have? Also what antivirus programs are you running? Are you able to connect to the router with a cable?

Reg..... Have you had a problem like this with an HP? We are about to set up wireless and we have some hp's here.

Yes, I had an integral adapter with an antenna.

I could barely get a signal and it would drop.

But then again I was using a cheap a Netgear router

It did work fine in Vista..

Is it a large setup you;re talking about with many (possibly 30 computers?

Yeah the setup has about 50 devices that will be wireless.

Well, you have to consider my HP is about 3 years old, so I'm sure they would have fixed the problem my now.

Can you just order on and test it?

There might be a built in utility that is actually making the wireless card offline. This happened with me on sony VAIO laptop. The utility was actually putting my wireless card offline.
