Welcome to the Seven Forums.

It looks like you are connected to something other than your wireless access point.

I'm going to suggest a rather generic set of troubleshooting steps:

open Network and Sharing Center
click on Manage Wireless Networks
right click on each network name listed and select Remove network from the context menu
restart the computer and try to connect to your Wireless Access Point again

My internet keeps on going in a cycle from "identifying" to "disconnected"Hmm.. I only had one network when I went to Manage Wireless Networks. But I'll try it and post what happens.

Okay so I did and it didn't seem to fix it. I couldn't connect to the network.

Which anti virus software are you running?

Do you have iTunes installed?

Sometimes a simple unplug of the router from the AC power outlet for about a one minute. If that doesn't work a reset of the router will work. Use a paper clip, and stick it in the tiny hole on the back of the router and push it in to hold down the reset button inside that hole for 15 to 30 seconds or until the router reboots.

I don't have an anti virus software but I did download malwarebytes which I downloaded after I started having problems.
And Yes I have iTunes installed.

I was kind of reluctant to try it at first because I tried power cycling before. But this solution worked for me. I guess I thought it was more complicated than it really was. Thank you so much!

Great news....glad it's working for you. Only other suggestion I have for you is to go into your routers web based page and make all necessary security changes. Now everything is a default settings. You will need to enable your encryption service...wep, wpa, wpa2 and wpa2 - personal...choose the latter one. Change your log on credentials from default admin, admin, to something else. And turn off your SSID. That should do it for you.

Hi Bassfisher,

I have good wireless now. But why is it that whenever I enable SSID, my wireless stops working again? Is there a way to fix it without disabling SSID? and by "change your log on credentials from default admin, admin, to something else" did you mean that I should change my user name to log into my verizon router?

Sometimes with certain wireless adapters, once you turn off the SSID you have log back on to that network and once you've done so it will pick up the connection from that point on. Not sure why this happens just that it does. It may be some type of security feature. It happens to me on my Samsung laptop and all other wireless devices connected to my network. When I turn the SSID on and off.

So for this laptop, there wouldn't be a way to connect to wireless without disabling SSID. I guess it's not so bad other than that itd be a little annoying for my parents who aren't so savvy with computers haha. OKay thanks so much
