wireless versus wired Internet accessability problem

Hi,

I have a toshiba satellite laptop running windows 7 ultimate. I attach to my work network via a cable when I"m in the office and work wirelessly everywhere else. last week I couldn't access the internet at the office though everyone else could. when I unplug the cable, I can access our wireless network at work just fine. After some troubleshooting here's what I know:

1. when wired I can reach the network, exchange, outlook etc...but cannot access the internet.
2. when wireless I can do everything above including internet
3. no matter what port in the wall I use the same results occur.
4. the ports in the are fine as they have been tested with other laptops
5. there are no problems reported in system devices
6. when I run the troubleshooting tool for network problems it reports that Microsoft Corporation cannot be reached.

I'm not really sure what else might be the cause but I'm hopeful i can get some ideas on what to check next on here.

Thanks for the link Chev65, I looked through it but didn't see anything that seemed to address my situation...I can't even think of a scenario that would cause the symptoms I listed. If I can reach the local network and exchange server whether I'm attaching wired or wirelessly I don't know what would cause me to be able to access the internet from that point when I'm wireless but not allow it when wired. I don't use this at home to attach to the network just when I'm in the office. Still hoping someone has an idea...

If you can post an ipconfig screen shot it might be helpful to diagnose this problem. Start orb lower left, type cmd then hit enter, type ipconfig then hit enter. Use the snipping tool to capture then post.

Do you have an A/V software or third party firewall installed on the machine with the problem?

Do you have DHCP enabled for eithernet connections in device manager?

Have you attempted to roll back or reinstall the eithernet driver in device manager?

Sounds like a DNS issue. Did you do anything to configure your computer for the domain (like point it at a dns server)?

If you input the IP of microsoft instead of the name what happens?
