I am trying to get WMC working with my MSI TVAnywhere Plus tuner card.

It is playing the Digital signal from my Comcast Set Top Box; Comcast requires these boxes now, I can't watch TV without one. It has its own Remote Control.

So, anyway, when I go to configure WMC, I go through the manual configuration, select cable, select that its running a Set Top Box, then select Channel 3 for the signal and so far everything is going great. When I select Channel 3, it displays a good picture and sound is perfect.

Ok, click next...

Now it says it wants an IR Device?!

It says it has to have a Windows Media Center Remote Control?

My MSI Tuner card came with its own Remote; but it only works with the included MSI software.. and besides. I don't even need it, never use it because all its useful for is launching the MSI software application. The software stays on Channel 3 at all times cause thats what my Comcast box requires, and I just change my channels through that Box, using its own Remote.

So how do I get WMC to play my TV?

The MSI software that came with my Tuner card is kinda crappy. This is ridiculous, I shouldn't have to need an IR Device for this if I'm using a Set Top Box, and since it gives me the option of selecting that I am running off such a box, then why the heck is it even ASKING for an IR Device?!

I found my solution here...

Windows Media Center IR Hardware not detected

Basically, instead of selecting Cable, as my input method, I had to select Antenna instead.

This skipped the requirement for an IR Device, then I just had to go into the WMC Settings and "add" channel 003, in order to receive the signal from my Set Top Box.
