Hi,

I have just noticed that in task manager that the file mentioned in the subject above uses 5-10% cpu in my pc. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I have tried running a scan with malwarebytes and security essentials but no virus is found. Any suggestions why this happening. Please help..

Did you mean to type Wmiprvse.exe?

If so, please edit the title of the original post so that this thread can be found when others search.

Wmiprvse is a part of of Windows Management Instrumentation. Corporations use it to gather info on their computers, but Widget makers use it too.

There are a couple of ways to find out what app is asking of Wmiprvse to do all of that work:

Or
Have Process Monitor so you the program/DLL handles associated with Wmiprvse. Try the clean boot method first.
