WMP 12 won't play str sub

Ok, here is the problem.

This is when there is no sub (str) within the same folder as the vid

But when i put in the str file in the same folder, this happened

How can i fix this?

you could try vlc media player,

it works fine with the window media 10 on my old laptop....so i don't think it is the player's fault.
WMP 12 works fine with anime with sub encoded into the video, but doesn't when you have an external str file

yeah i have found this to be a problem also hence i use vlc ,it plays subs no problem
