WMP cant play audio files

hi, i have a Asus K40AB, and i just installed windows 7 32 bit on it, but when i try to run the WinSAT, it stopped working when running the windows media decoding test, and when i tried to play any audio file on WMP, it just stopped working, and this is the error code i got:

any information about this problem? this problem on my freshly installed laptop and also PC, i haven't installed any other programs yet..

Welcome to the Forums! Apologies for the late response.
I don't know much about debugging, but we can try this.
Type "Turn Windows Features" into the start menu box, and select "Turn Windows features on or off". Find the MMP box, and uncheck it. Reboot, and follow the steps again, this time turning it on.

BEX is an external error message - this means another programs is interfering with WMP or whatever program is failing.

A) Download and Install MalwareBytes.
B) Open and update it. Close. Reboot into SAFE MODE.
C) Run a Full scan of all files. Review the results.
D) If a required system file has been contaminated, follow the instructions carefully.
E) Install and maintain an Antivirus and Antispyware program(s)

If this does not fix the issue, uninstall any third party media related applications.

Note: If you upgraded a PC that had malware, the install may be bad - I suggest you back up your files, do a full re-install, and make sure you have AV running before you retrieve those backup files. When asked to format the drive, do a full (not quick) format.

thanks guys, the problem is solved. apparently there was something wrong with my copy of windows, everything works fine after i got a replacement from the reseller.

anyway, before that, i already tried both methods above, but it didn't work. and i did a clean install right from the beginning, and even when i just finished installing the windows, the problem has already exist. i haven't even installed any driver yet, coz the windows recognized most of the device from the beginning. but even after i installed of the driver, the problem still persist.
