Hi Everyone,

I just upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and have encountered an issue with my wireless Linksys WMP300N net work adapter. Basically when I install the drivers my computer struggles to boot up, it just freezes at the loading screen. I then booted it in safe mode and removed the driver and all went back to normal. I installed the latest driver from Windows update aswell and that seemed to allow me to boot up my computer but as soon as I'd try and open the internet it would all freeze again.

Is there any driver or anything that I can use to correct this issue? It kinda sucks because now I can't use the internet on my computer until Linksys release a driver for Windows 7 (which looks highly unlickley given there last driver update was in 2007 *sigh*)

Any help would be greatly appreciated in trying to resolve this issue.

Thanks so much

Solution for version 2.0

Hi,

this is an old thread, but I solved this problem last night and maybe it will help someone.

My solution only works with version 2.0 of the WMP300N, sold in europe.

If you're using Win7 32bit:
Just use the old XP-drivers (not Vista!) from the driver CD.
(You can also get them from linksys.com)

If you're using Win7 64bit:
Unfortunately the XP drivers won't work with the 64bit Windows.
You will find an unknown network-device in the device-manager.
Choose actualize driver -> manual -> from a list -> Atheros Communications Inc. -> Atheros AR5008X.
Sometimes, the driver won't work. Just uninstall it, restart your PC and star all over again.
