WNR2000v2 no wifi

hey, i recently purchased a Netgear WNR2000v2 wifi router and i cant get the router to send out the signal for the wifi...

-the power light is completely on and green
-the second light under the power light (looks like a lower case i [i assume this is the light indicating internet connection]) is green and flickering at a steady pace
-the light underneath which normally glows blue is not on (this is what i need to turn on but I'm not sure how to)
-and the 1 home network light is on

the router is on, the dsl modem is on, and the computer says there is internet connection, so... what do i do?

You may also since going wireless, read up on securing the router...

...When using a wireless connection, use a robust password. Also try to use the strongest security supported by your wireless devices, such as WPA2 with AES encryption or whats known as "WEP" which is less secure, but might have to be used if connecting to older laptops/usb wireless adapters that don't support WPA2.

(Also change SID (router name) and router log-in password. ...Keep P.W. stored in a safe place.)

When you select the security type, you will then need to enter a passphrase which can be any letters (case sensitive) & number combo. Then once router wireless is turned on, go to laptop (make sure wireless adapter on laptop is on) Click network icon in system tray, you should see the (SID) the name of your router and then enter the same passphrase that you typed into router.

Otherwise without any security, anyone close to you or in a car can see your router and connect to it!!!

Please read up on how to secure your particular router.

Open Internet Explorer from a PC or laptop thats connected to the one of the routers WIRED ports.

type directly in the address bar:

http://www.routerlogin.net  [B][SIZE=4]OR[/SIZE][/B]

Next you should see a pop-up asking for user name and password:

For User Name, Type: Admin
For Password, Type: password

Now you should be logged into your router.

From here, browse to the wireless settings and or advanced wireless settings and find where to turn on wireless.

You can also access (any) router from inside the network by typing 192.168.1.1 into the address bar.

Default (as said above) should be admin and password.
I recommend finding the setting and changing the password immediately.

Once you are in, you need to find the wireless settings link and click on it. Make sure that broadcasting SSID is on (the SSID is the name of the network that is transmitted so you can find it). I also recommend changing it.

Then make sure security is set to WPA2 (either TKIP or AES, preferably both) and make a password. It doesn't HAVE to be different from the router password, but it should be.

Now, check on your computer that the SSID is broadcasting (after applying settings). If it isn't, make sure there isn't a physical switch for this as well (doubt it, but possible).

This was all done from memory, so some of it might be off, but again, it should all be in the PDF posted above.

If you are still having trouble from here, we can (and will!) walk you through the individual settings on the router page (up to even flashing/updating the firmware). It IS possible that the wireless transmitter is physically broke, in which case you would need to take it in, but we will go over it to make sure that is the problem first.

I have the same router with a different problem. The router will not connect. Using the www.routerlogin takes me to Netgear page-- not user/password log in. Apparently I somehow lost my Internet adaptor driver. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? Router has been fine for months.........till this.
