Hello,

Thanks for Reading this post :-)

I'm trying to implement a remote system to control some switchs!
Here my system (please see pic):

- Link MR3420 (3G/4G Wireless N Router)
- 3G Modem
- Toshiba Tecra R840-16J laptop
- 2 x EN-PMS2-LAN (EnerGenie Programmable surge protector with LAN interface)

My "problem": I DON'T WANT TO LET THE LAPTOP ALLWAYS ON!
My goal: to be able to Wake on Lan the laptop from 200 miles away!

After some research in the web I managed to configure my system in a way that now I can WoL the laptop BUT only if I'm WIRED with the router (I used another laptop, connected it with a LAN cable to the router and waked the Tecra laptop from a complet shut down ...not from sleep or hybernation! So now I know that the Tecra is WoL capable from shutdown!)

Ok, but I don't have a 200 miles LAN cable :D.

One thing very important: I've complete access to the 2 EN-PMS2-LAN and I can switch ON/OFF them even from my Android phone!

PLEASE, could someone explain me what I need to do (configure) to be able to WoL my Tecra via the internet (the 3G modem and the router is allways on and allways with Internet connection) ?

I'll be very grateful for all the help :geek:.

Cheers,
paulo

Don't know if it will work with your setup but read this page:
3 Ways to Remotely Restart a Windows Machine Through Command Line
When I worked in a local computer shop we had a switching device setup where we could use an IP address to log in and start or reset one of the 8 computers on the rack when needed, been a bit of 14 years ago and can't recall the name of it. Another point to consider, it might be best to disable the Sleep and Hibernation functions to assure they don't interfere.
