I save a new document using either Save or Save as and it reacts as normal but then is not anywhere in Documents folders. The Find function does not locate it but it is still in the recently opened files section of Word. Thta is until 4 more files are opened. I tried saving changes to existing documents which works but document does not go to today's date as formerly.
Any suggestions?

Hello Jenny Gallagher and welcoem to Seven Forums.

This seems to be a known issue that has not been addressed by Microsoft, at least as of April 2012.

I don't have a solution. But as an alternative, you could probably create a new folder with a new folder name (like Js Docs) and make that the new default save location. Not very elegant but it might solve the problem.

No progress sadly - tried changing Default Save location but it won't recognise a file name. I have an earlier problem which might be affecting the Save function. I can't delete files - get a message saying No longer located at C:.....Verify the item's location and try again. So it's messing me about - can't save, can't delete!

Have just about cracked it thanks to your first reply and the link to the thread. I have managed to change the default location to a folder on the C drive as someone suggested and everything is working. The only problem that remains is the number of clicks (about 6!)to get into My documents. Not really a problem but any ideas? Not bad for a non-computer savvy granny!
