Don't know what mine is now, used to be fast when I typed for a living years ago but things have slowed down now.

At times I type faster than my 3 brain cells can think and at times that can get me in trouble.

Last time I did a test it varied between 30 and 40 wpm.
A lot depends on what keyboard you use.

Oh yeah but Joan joking on the internet or understanding that someone is joking is really hard.

Mm was just thinking but I guess programmers would have faster typing speed than people doing support type of work..

All seriousness aside, when I was in High School, I begged my parents to let me take typing since my penmanship was (still is) so horrible. After a lot of hard work, I was able to get up to a rip roaring 19 wpm. And promptly forgot everything I learned.

I learned to type with ten fingers, but for some reason I'm typing faster with six!

I wanted to stay on an extra year to finish the shorthand course that I was taking with the typing at school but no as far as my parents were concerned I had to leave and start work, so at 15 I left school to start work in a factory.

I learned to receive Morse Code at 30 WPM on a good day so that is all the faster I had to type. 5 letter groups with no rime or reason so you are all over the keyboard without any pattern.

The great advantage was you didn't have to know how to spell. All I had to do is type what I heard in Morse Code.
