Wrong Drive Is System Active?

I have a main drive, drive C, with its affiliated system volume Drive G. I installed and formatted a second drive, Drive E. It's affiliated system drive is Drive F. this drive says it's "system active." shouldn't the G Drive be system active?

I think this is causing a problem for me when trying to clone drive c onto drive E. it says drive F is in use and cannot proceed.

What is a affiliated system drive ?

If you installed and formatted a new drive it should only have 1 partition.

Post a shot of disk management.

The drive that contains the bootmgr must be active. If you change that, your system will not boot unless you copy the bootmgr and change the BIOS boot order. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/209885-bootmgr-move-c-easybcd.html
