Solved XBCD drivers for Xbox 360 gamepad

Just to clarify, Not digitally signed means I have to use DESO in test mode and sign them once installed, am I correct?

actually the not digitally signed refers to the page itself, but yeah mori's are unsigned as well.

hey guys i dont know how i did this but xbcd did start acting up again but this time

when i installed it with testing mode and uninstalled it the windows drive would pop up with pj64 and other programs BUT i could still use the xbcd driver setup utility and put the triggers as buttons and it works like a charm so i think somehow they could be combined like this ill let you know if i found out

First of all, thanks for all the effort your are doing to make XBCD live on in Seven.
I was planning to get a new comp with Win7 for a while and already bookmarked this topic

I followed the steps given by Zorlac in the first page, and it worked pretty well... until my PC freezes

All the install process works fine, I can update the drivers to XBCD, but when I launch the setup utility, my screen turns to plain blue/green (the default background color of Win7 I guess) and the PC is totally frozen :shock:
I noticed this only happens when the gamepad is plugged in. If I unplug the gamepad, the setup utility will launch but I can't make any use of it of course lol. And as soon as I replug the controller, bam....

If I launch a game, it seems I also get that total freeze... So I assume there is this problem every time a program wants to "call" the controller.

For now I have to use the Miscrosoft drivers, but I can't configure the triggers like I want.

Actually, I wouldn't need the XBCD if I could find a way to invert the axis of the triggers (Z axis I think ?).

Thanks for reading me, any ideas ? (for both the freezing or axis inversion)

EDIT: Should I try all the files replacements written in the Vista x64 tutorials ? (inf and so on). I'm using Win7 x64 btw.

So you mean it's a power problem ?

Out of the 8 or 10 USB ports my PC has, I'm using only 3...

-An old Logitech USB mouse
-A big Miscrosoft keyboard (Reclusa)
-The XBOX360 pad for Windows

My previous Asus laptop could take it and more

I have now a brand new Acer desktop PC that costed 950euros... I would be shocked if it can't take 3 USB devices ?

The 3 devices work fine at the same time as long as I use the Mircrosoft drivers.

well it could be an issue between 2 of the connected devices or their drivers.

Ok, this evening back home I will unplug my Reclusa keyboard and try with the regular PS/2 devices I got with the computer.
I will let you know... I hope I won't need too long to get it to work, because everytime it fails, I have to brutaly shut down the computer and I don't like it... Plus I need to train for electronic tournaments

Hey,

I think I figured out what was wrong.
I wanted to use my old XBCD profiles from the version I used in Windows XP, and I think they are not compatible with the new version (0.2.6) I'm using.
I changed the directory of my old profiles, so that the setup utility can't find them anymore, and my PC didn't freeze so far

So... I have to redo my profile manually. It wouldn't be a big deal if the setup utility wasn't bugged like that!
Until now, I thought all these blinking buttons in the utility were a "virtual" bug that actually doesn't occur ingame, but... when I try to play, if I move the left stick, it's really randomly activating A, B, X, Y, or I don't know what other button !

In the old version I used under WinXP, I had two icons for the setup utility. A grey one that wasn't bugged and displayed everything good about the buttons, and a black one that was exactly bugged like the one I have now in Win7. I don't get why we end up with the one that doesn't work in the newest versions

Anyway, can anyone explain me how to use this please ?

EDIT: Nevermind, it works now!!
So the important thing to know is that old profiles can cause serious bugs

the Xbox tab has always screwed up for 360 pad owners, but it doesn't effect games at all.

One last question... Do I have to stay in "test mode" once the driver is installed ? The watermark is not too big, but if I can disable test mode I will. I didn't try, I don't want to screw up everything...

The driver cannot be started without test mode.

i dunno i think there is a way you can somehow start it without test mode im not sure how ive done it like in my previous posts im still trying to find out Or i could be in test mode without realizing it and ive already removed the watermark anyway to check that im in test mode or not without using DESO because i dont really want to screw it all up again

There is absolutely NO way of starting the driver without test mode.

Getting really frustrated here. I hate Windows 7.
I followed the instructions on the first page to install xbcd and was able to update the xbcd driver. Great I think? So now I need to map out the buttons.

I try to run the XBCD Setup Utility under Control Panel, but nothing happens when I click it. So I go to the Start Button > All Programs > XBCD > XBCD Setup Utility and it just goes away the minute I click it.

So I then decide to see what this X360ce thing is all about. I run it as administrator and it shows a picture of the 360 controller although it doesn't look highlighted. The bottom of the screen shows "Count 0, Reloads 0, Errors: and a forever advancing number of errors....then Could not load file or assembly Microsoft.DirectX.DirectInput.Version=1.02........off the screen.
I tried to load some of the preset things but none of them load. Also tried editing some of the buttons but I can't do anything to them.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I haven't even gotten to the fun part of trying to get it to recognize the LT and RT as digital buttons.

I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium if it matters.
