XP to Windows 7 Upgrade Error

:Dhi my name is Chris and i cant get Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade to show up on my grandmas computer we have call microsoft and no 1 could speak english and we couldnt understand them but they said u need to return the disc but i kno it works on mine i installed it but when i pop it in to her computer it dosnt show up and when i go to My Computer on XP it seems like nothings in there i hit open and it says please put a dvd in the CD rom and iv restarted the computer and tryed from there but theres no option to hit install cd and we have tryed everything i could think of even microsoft people said to do some stuff and she has a old old old dell computer it aint really ld but it aint new and i kno every other DVD or Cd works with the PC so please help us:cry:

Are you using an original (Microsoft manufactured) install DVD, or one that you purchased and downloaded then made yourself? If you created the disc yourself from a downlaoded ISO, have you tried making a new disk?

And you also can "upgrade install" from XP to 7, at least not in the tradional sense that preserves programs and data. You'll end up doing a clean install anyway...

hi im using microsofts install DVD it came with a 64-Bit DVD and a 32-Bit DVD and i put them both in and none of them show up even though her computer takes 32-Bit i figered id try and see if it was the 32-Bit DVD and not both of them that wasnt working and i dont kno how to do the upgrade install without the DVD not showing up should i try and get her a beta real quick or something for it to work or do u think yall ca help me with figering how to make the DVD apper and iv saved all her stuff that she wanted me to save to a Portable HD that can hold 650GB so its stored lol
