XP x64 in VirtualBox on Win7 x64 optimum setup

Since the thread is about W7 hosts - I changed a VirtualBox W7pro64bit VM to use 4 CPUs and ran wPrime. Now the host is noticeably slower with all 4 of its CPUs maxed out. The host's mouse movements are jerky and the host's screen repaints crawl.

I would expect so. :sick:

Considering he's doing it on a dual core machine, I'd expect so too.

What would have happened if it was a quad core [before hyperthreading] and the VM had 4 cores?

Also, wPrime is a program designed to load the CPU, not a real world scenario. Remember, in post #5, I said
What should I do to give informative test results? [I don't want to just run a load program]

Sorry that I was not clear - the W7 VM testing mentioned above was done on the i5 system listed in my specs. I figured if someone was play W.O.W on the XP VM, they could lag the host if there were not some restrictions put in place.
