Solved Youtube Lagging in Windows 7!!!!

Hi,
I have Windows 7 Home Premium installed on Acer Aspire 5532 and I am using Google Chrome. I am unable to watch youtube videos even in 720p because they lag, pause and takes forever to buffer. I was using linux before I installed Windows 7 (well, I had to because I am taking online classes and their online portal only works with windows) and I had the gtk youtube viewer installed which would search HD videos on youtube and play them on vlc player installed on my laptop. I never had any problems, it was lightening fast.

How do i fix this???? Is there any youtube viewer out there for windows????

- With 3G of memory you should have installed Win 7 32.
- Chrome has a lot of memory resident programs and they spy what you do. In my opinion, Firefox is better.
- With Youtube running open task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and on performance tab look how much free memory you've have.

Also you can change your DNS server from your local ISP to either OpenDNS or Google Public DNS. You will definitely see an improvement in your video performance as well as browsing speed.

Right click Network select Properties. Click Local Area Connection. Click Properties. Highlight (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties. Select the "Use The Following DNS Server Address." And add either Google Public DNS or OpenDNS settings. Both are good. I've used both Google Public DNS and OpenDNS and there is most definitely an improvement.

DNS Server Addresses:

Google DNS
Preferred: 8.8.8.8
Alternate: 8.8.4.4

OpenDNS
Preferred: 208.67.222.222
Alternate: 208.67.220.220

The system specs are: Acer Aspire 5532 running AMD Athlon 64 Processor TF-20 (1.6 GHz), ATI Radeon HD3200 Graphics, 3 GB Memory and 160 GB HDD.

I am gonna install 32 bit and see if that works. I'll try it on firefox as well. If it still lage, i'll change the DNS settings.

Nothing worked so I downloaded Opera and everything is working lightening fast now.
