How to Change the Orange Flashing Taskbar Button Color in Windows 7
InformationThis tutorial will show you how to change the orange flashing taskbar button color in Windows 7. You could use it to change to other states also.
TipYou should make a new theme so the defaut aero.msstyles does not get corrupt. Look at Post #38 to see how Start menu color change ??
You will need to do 1 of these 2 ways of Enabling custom themes so the new theme will work.

NoteThese image #s are only for the default aero.msstyles 3rd party custom themes have different #sNoteThe Top and Bottom taskbar button image are each 60px wide x 40px high. The #s are 1014,1015,1016,1017 and all have the top 7 states just #1014 has 10 states.
The Left and Right taskbar button image are each 60px wide x 46px high. The #s are 1024,1025,1026,1027 and all have the top 7 states just #1024 has 10 states.
NoteThe Pinned states are anything pinned on the taskbar.

1: Open Restorator and Click on the open button. 2: In the Open window lower right change it to All files(*.*). 3: Navagate to the .msstyles that you just made, Click on it, then Click on Open. 4: Click on the Arrow at Image to expand it and Scroll down to 1014 and Click on it. 5: Click on Resources > Extract > Click on Extract as "1014.png". 6: Name it 1014 and Click Save (save it to your desktop). 7: Open Gimp, Click on File then Click on Open.
Navagate to the 1014.png you just saved on Click Open. Image is open in Gimp 8: Click on View > Zoom > Click on 8:1 (800) (will be easier to see). 9: On the Gimp Toolbox top left Click on the Rectangular Marquee Tool. 10: Scroll down to 240px, with the Rectangular Marquee Tool left click and hold down on the mouse button and from 240px draw to the right and down to 280px > x 60px wide, there should be a move line around the area. 11: Click on Color then Click on Colorize. 12: In the Colorize window move the sliders to your liking Click OK (if preview is checked you will see the changes before you click OK). 13: When done editing Click File, Click Save. 14: Back at Restorator Click on 1014. Click on Resources > Assign > Click on Assign to "1014.png". 15: Navagate to the 1014.png you just edited Click on it and Click Open. You will see the change. 16: Click File > Click Save. Restorator will save a backup copy. Done
