Hello Blinky, and welcome to Seven Forums.
That was just a isolated issue only for that member. The Quick Launch used in this tutorial works just fine and will remain after a reboot. :)

i had the same probleme a few minutes ago, the QL would disapear after reboot but just now i downloaded i new theme and it seems it remained on the left side. i don't know if that was the answer to the problem but i don't care, i'm just happy it worked :)
LE: if you still have such problems you can just use this gadget: http://gallery.live.com/liveItemDeta...264a&bt=1&pl=1
Was this a themepack that you downloaded, or one that you created from within Windows 7 using the normal method?
let me explain: the custon theme i made it myself from a builtin themepack (i can't remember wich, maybe the default one) with the "sun" colour. in this case the QL toolbar disapeared after reboot. then i downloaded another theme (niers niederrhein), used it and it worked. But i'm pretty sure it was just a coincidence...
It may have been. At least we have one possible cause for it when it does happen. Thank you for posting back with this information. :)
Another good one! When I came across this one it saw an immediate application to soak up some of the overwhelming items already pinned with the number of those continuing to grow.
Brilliant!! I have been wondering about that since I first installed 7085! It's a pity that it's such a chore tho...
