I had more problems running Raid (mirror drive) than anything else.
I finally had to resort to one hard drive and and 'image' my system on an external hard drive. I've been quite happy with this configuration.

You can use your Win7 Repair CD or Installation DVD to copy out your files: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console
After doing that, boot into Repair console to run Startup Repair a few times as one of the many fixes it runs might get you started: Startup Repair
Startup Repair should automate the System File Checker. If not run it from Repair Command Line: SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot
