Solved Windows 10 Update "Removal"

I for some reason just can't seem to get rid of this Windows 10.. I have removed the Icon from the Task bar, I have removed every update related to Windows 10.

Yet when I ask for updates, and select the ones I want, even just one update, I then click to install, and guess what starts first this darn Windows 10..

I also find after removing and doing a disc cleanup and rebooting, the same updates I just took out are back on the update list to be installed..Right now there all hidden..

I just don't want Windows 10 right now maybe way down the line but not now..

I am running a Dell Windows 7 Premium with 64 bit..

How do I get rid of Windows 10 for good..

Thanks guy's.. That is quite the task, especially when you don't know what your doing..

I have never been into the administrative files..before in any computer..

I would have to follow the 1st. step

I don't want to start monkeying around right now. I have a service guy heading over to change my server, my phone provider charges 80 bucks a month for wireless high speed, we have a cable company in our area, giving it to me for 40 bucks and it is also high speed, new service for the cable co. so they have a good deal..

But what would happen if I just do a clean install of the O/S I don't have to much on this computer, et..

Hi,
Well you would still end up with the same updates installed unless you first change your windows update settings and cull out all of the recommended and optional updates that deliver 10 to you

These settings separate them nicely and allow only loading Important updates at first,
I'd still make sure none were reclassified as Important though

Yep, that's it. Download the disable .reg file and merge it.

Man sounds easy..

Yep worth a shot a lot easier than a clean install unless you want to also upgrade to a ssd as well

Then a clean install is best.

I download to the desktop. Clicked on and hit Merge, computer asked me two questions, I clicked yes to both.

Rebooted, and went to updates, clicked on a couple to try, and low and behold, Windows 10 still there trying to download..

Whats next..

Go ahead and post a screenshot showing this in Windows Update to see if it may be for something else than what the tutorial is for.

Just what files do you want me to post..as a screen shot

Hi,
I guess the screen shot of the install ?
Otherwise look at killing the install process with task manager by right clicking your taskbar and opening it,
Services section and scroll the list for the prior entries GWX.exe to stop.

You must disable GWX.exe services/processes from within task manager

It should be of Windows Update showing "Windows 10 still there trying to download..".

GWX.exe is not in the Services of the Task Bar..

Sounds like it should be listed in processes if 10 is installing :/
Processes section,
If not listed there on the bottom left click on Show processes for all users and look there too.

Clicked on updates to install, and windows 10 started to install, got half way and I stopped it..
