Solved diskpart/clean by accident....need to recover partitions,begging :'(

Hi everyone,
1st of all I am sorry if this the wrong section to post this and, im BEGGING you to please help me. As the title says, i lost my partition table.

Here is what i did and help me please,

For past couple of weeks my hp g6(spec is filled on my profile. See below if it is necesory pleas) notebook was lagging and having one or two bsods everytime i turn it on. As I was having my semester exams, i kept it in sleep without shuting down regularly due to this errors.

And today, i decided to restore to a image whch i had saved just after clean win instalation and essential software like antivirus, firewall and office.

So I boot into winpe enviorenment with macrium rescue disk. And i did folowing things as usual. Bt except for one.

1. I formated my c: partition which i had windows installed.

2. I formated my 100mb reserved area and after formating, as usual it showed 86mb of free space.

3. Then, i wanted to clear wipe my c: completly becuz of I had once restored one of recent image but it didnt solve the problem.

4. I opened command prompt in WinPE and launched disk part console.

This is where i screwed up.

5. So I selected my notebook drive, which is disk 0 and then, I thought that I have selected my partition 1( i was reading some more commands in console and thatz why i got confuced i think).

6. I executed clean command ( without any parameters, not clean all. ONLY CLEAN) :'(

7. Then I saw my all partitions are gone and this is what i want to recover. (i had 3 partions, c, d, e. C was formated. Not D and E).

i searched google and in the forum and called here and there and google came up with some tools and testdisk(free), easeus partition recovery(free), easeus partition manager pro(not free), advance partition recovery(40$).

But im afraid to execute any action without proper guidance. Google says that i have only deleted my mbr and partition table and this can be recovered most times. But im afraid becuz I thnk i only got one shot here? Am I right or can i try as many times?

So guys, please help me. Im begging you. All my life is in this 500gb. I didnt put any backups because it contains very confidetial data i value like my life and all my work.

I havent done anythng at all after that, and it is being turned off and just sits. No os runing. Many posts said that all my data will be there if I could restore my partition table.

Please please please help me. Im desperate here. And im writing this via my phone. I have limited access to some websites as this is only a old n95 8gb phne. I was thinking that, could I use a linux or any live disk or winpe disk with the specific tools? Or should I take this to a repair shop. Thank you. Again im begging everyone of you....:'''(

Hello mate ... I just can suggest you only one thing, try the Partition Recovery Wizard . (there is a video link too, on how to do it) of the Partition Wizard Bootable CD . Download it using any computer , burn the downloaded iso in a blank disk, and boot your computer with that disk.

It might take a long time, so please have patience.

its okay arc. I have all the time in the world for my data. Archie, im not doubt you, but are you sure this wil work? Cuz i dont know how many tries I have here though.

So have you tried it already ?

I guess it should work, coz now your disk is bigger in size than the previous 500 GBs of life

As they say , Partition Wizard does not usually fail in one of its tasks

no no, i havent tried it yet. I need to download the iso and ryt now i do not have as its almost midnight her. if im about to use it. I was watching the video. Seems its easy.

But archie, what are my chances? Can I try as many times with differnt tools if one fails?
Cuz so thus, the easeus and test disk having good reputation.
Im afraid of trying that i do not know this is a one shot game or not.

And by the, i do not need to recover data. Just my partition table. I believe my data is stil there safely. And the disk is 640. 500 was without the C:

Lol, I know the disk's size ... you have filled your specs up nicely. I told about that 500 coz you told your life is there

You can try as many tools as you want, one by one. That's not a big problem at all. But the recovery mechanism is the same. So if the PW Bootable CD is failed, there is most possibility that the others will also fail.

hehe, sorry didnt got u on there and yes, thatz 500 is my life. Its not music, movies or any music videos. Thats just all vids photos that I have left with my father, and my love(except for my work and softwares and pics of everythng since im little) . So i guess its worth my life.

Seresly im very depressed and confused.
So, as you re saying, i have many times but I need some perfect tools.

What do u think about linux? One of my friend here sugested using somethng called lilo with test disk.

and I should repeat,
I do not need to restore C:. Its just windows and programs.
I just need my partitions back. I believe my data stil exist there and only they are not visible becuz i have no partition table. So i only need them to be up again.

Mate what I have suggested is based on the best of my knowledge.

I have contacted with Gregrocker too, his inputs will be the most valuable for you, coz he is having a supreme knowledge on such stuff.

Doing anything , better you wait for him.

I'm no expert in this area but I believe TestDisk is your best bet for recovering the partition structure. http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

thank you kado. Arc told that he contacted gregrocker on behalf of me. I have found test disk too. But i have no idea on how much reliable it is with a live cd. Again thank you very mch.

Archie, and both of u wil be repd as fast as i can. Ryt now rep button doesnt seems to work on operamini.

Did you try partition wizard?

You could have done it by now.


Test disk is good too - but unless you know what you are doing you could make a mess.

Partition wizard will probably do it.

About 5 mins to d/l it , boot it up and fix your problem .

You have been mucking about for 1hr.

Select partition recovery.

Do a quick scan of the HD. A scan will not do any harm.

It will list the partitions it has found.

Tick ALL the partitions you want to keep.

thanks siw, yes I was muckin for last 5 hours myself. I watched that video. Problem that I cant test it is I do not have a computer to make a bootable disk. Im via my phne here and got to wait til 2morow morning.

I've just had a look at Partition Wizard bootable ISO in a VM it looks much simpler to use than TestDisk. I think I will add it to my recovery tools.

LOL - well you will have trouble burning an iso from a phone.

Sorry I was traveling today and only saw this now. Looks like the guys have got you on the right track.

If anything can recover your partitions after the HD has been wiped it will be Partition Wizard Partition Recovery Wizard - Video Help.

However remember that Diskpart Clean Command is what you run to wipe a HD, not a partition. It overwrites the boot sector and the partition table which will make it quite a challenge for PW to piece things back together. It is not as thorough as Clean All but still is not intended to be recoverable.

You may need to use Data Recovery Software depending upon what PW is able to do.

oh! Thank you greg. Its yet 5am in the morning. I wil download it and try as soon as my friend up Now I feel much comfortable. And seems archie got me the best at first place.

Greg- first i have formated c partition. Then only wanted to clean it. And ran the clean without selecting.
So, I am wondering, am I recovering all my data or am I just recovering my partition table? Because I do not care anything that was in the C:, it was just windows and i intended to format it. Sorry for my poor knowledge in this. Thank you all again.

I meant that, do I have to use a data recovery software to recover my data after the partition table restored? By the way, I havent even touched the notebook after i knew i screwed up
