eMachines E725-4520 - Function Key Driver Question

Hello, I'm 7ech7utorials and I'm new to the forums.
I want to say hi, and was wondering if someone could help me with a driver I'm looking for.
Also, sorry if this has been asked before, or if this a noob question.

Before I tell you what driver I'm looking for, I have to tell you my system specs in order for you guys to help me:
  • I'm running an eMachines E725-4520 laptop with an Intel® Pentium® Processor T4400 that has Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 (OEM Version) installed.
My laptop ran into some problem a few days ago and wouldn't boot into Windows 7 (only gave me a black error screen when I turned it on) and the repair options didn't work, so I decided to reinstall Windows 7 on my main drive. It worked successfully, and now my eMachines laptop is on a freshly installed Windows 7 OS with the basic drivers that were installed during the Fresh Windows 7 Installation Process.

Now, I know that I can obtain my drivers from my manufacturer's website, which I found here. You just have to click the "Drivers" tab, and it lists several drivers for the eMachines E725. I assume that all the drivers on that page are the basic drivers that were installed during the Fresh Windows 7 Installation.

The problem is that when I press the keyboard buttons "FN+Up" to make my sound higher or "FN+Down" to make my sound lower, it won't show the icon. When trying to find the answer, someone said that it's a driver you have to download and install. So now I know it's a driver, but I don't know what the driver is called, where to download it, or how to install it, so I'm unable to continue.

Basically my question is, what is the driver called that shows the sound icon when pressing "FN+Up" or "FN+Down", where can I download it, and how do I install it?

Thank you, and I hope you guys can help me!
Again, sorry if this has been asked before, or if this a noob question.

I already did. The HWVendorDetection only detects the Vendor for the drive I'm suppose to download.

It doesn't show each individual driver and it's Vendor, it only shows 3 type of drivers and there Vendor.

This is what it shows after I open it:

I doubt if this will work because its too easy
The only sound icon that I know of is in the notification area
YOu go to search and type notfication
In the notification area go to the sound icon and pick the visiblity that you want.
Then to increase or decrease sound you left click on the icon.

I wish it was that easy, but sadly, it's not. That only affected the sound icon in my notification area. I will try finding a picture or a video that shows what sound icon I'm talking about. It's the FN+Up and FN+Down keys that when pressed, shows a sound icon with bars on the bottom middle of your screen. Basically, similar to the ones shown on the iPod Touch or iPhone when pressing the Volume Buttons, either up or down, makes a transparent box come up with a sound icon and some bars showing how high or low the volume is.

lol I know. xP
I remember having 2 programs in the notification area before I formatted and reinstalled Windows 7 that I never used because they were some program for the eMachines laptop. Right now, I only have 1 there, so maybe that has something to do with why my Function Key sound icon thing isn't working.

Have you tried contacting tech support on the emachines contact page. If you have a serial number somewhere on your laptop and punch it in on their site, it seems you can talk to a live person. Never had any experience dealing with them personally but it might be worth a shot.

I would update your drivers with the ones from the emachines website for your model laptop. Some drivers are modified by the manufacturer to better suit the particular hardware in the PC. The windows basic drivers are just that "basic". The functionality you describe may be included in the driver package from emachines or if you look you may find a utility to do it as a separate download. I can give you an example of what I'm talking about. I have a Logitech keyboard that works just fine with windows default drivers. I can adjust the volume etc just fine. If I install Logitech's setpoint software though I will get an on screen display showing the volume level as I adjust it. I'll also get an on screen indications for other functions like mute etc. Without the setpoint software I don't get the on screen notifications.
