Help me rename my user folder please

Okay, so here is the story, I got a computer, installed windows 7 then decided to gift it to my girlfriend, my problem, i have her all set up, with themes, backgrounds, settings, and the computer is all hers, except my c:/users/NAME is still DAMIEN!!!! tho her account is Maddie, how do i get it to change from Damien to maddie in c:/users/

Just create a new account called "Maddie" and transfer the theme to her account.

You cannot change the name of the actual C:\Users\(user-name) folder. If you rename it in User Accounts in the Control Panel, then all it does is change the name in the Start Menu and log on screen instead of the user folder, but both names are now tied to that user account.

The only option is to create a new administrator account with a different name, then copy all of the individual old account's C:\Users\(user-name) folders contents into the corresponding new account's C:\Users\(user-name) folders. After everything checks out ok, you can delete the old account.

Hey thanks sooo much for the quick reply, i actually noticed its only when viewing the folder in win explorer, i can still see Maddie from the start menu, so for her level of pc knowledge, she'll never even notice. hehe if she does i can always do like you said, create a new admin acount and transfer over, and delete old, was aware of that was just hopeing there might be an easier solution. thanks for the time again,
