I will keep popping back. Appreciate the interest & help so far

Keeping fingers crossed, and me spade out for diggin' around. There's got to be a simple answer ... eventually. It's the only problem I've found so far, so a bit early to carry out a Windows repair... but I'll keep that on the back-burner. I'm feeling hopeful I'm in the right area after reading the web page I mentioned earlier. It's just so darn similar!

"Open Action Center" dialog box won't clear
It is so incredibly annoying. When it pops up (i.e. to remind me to backup my system), I can't clear the box. It stays on top of everything until a reboot. Even an end-task on explorer.exe won't get rid of it. It's happened now on two different PC's running x64 ultimate - so I assume this is...

Hi! I "told" Maxthon (i.e. Internet Explorer) to open f4v files with VLC. However, I'd like to have back the dialog window that asks if I want to open or save such files. How do I do that? :o Thanks, diodorus

No Network in "Open File or Folder" dialog?
Huh, what's going on here. My computer lets me browse the network just fine and even sees everything there is to see. However, when I want to say, mount a DVD from a networked computer for example, the Network icon is nowhere to be found on the Open File or Folder dialog window. Going back to...
