x64 is only faster for applications that make use of more than the RAM limit imposed by 32-bit versions. In many cases, 64 bit Windows is actually slightly slower, for example due to device manufacturers releasing poorly optimized 64-bit drivers compared to their more mature 32-bit counterparts.I was just baffled that x64 was very noticeably slower the x86.
