Hello, probably someone has brutally powered down my computer while windows 7 was booting. I've been trying to fix it since two weeks, but i didn't foud a solution.

It just doesn't start normally but tries to fix itself using the Startup Repair: it fails, it pass all the tests with "Completed succesfully" and no errors and gives me a great answer, "Unspecified changes to system configuration might have caused the problem".

Trying with the Win 7 DVD, the same thing happen. I don't want to give up, i don't want to do a new install.
Is there an option to check all the windows files and fix them with the Windows Seven DVD files?

What should i do?

All no, most yes. It is called system file check. It verifies (and repairs) most system files. Instructions here.

Because we pay it and it should work without reinstalling it every month.


Anyway, the sfc /scannow command gives me this error:
"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again."

Obviously restarting doesn't fix.

IS THIS really happening? I mean, I can't believe it can't just overwrite every single system file and make it work!

Depending on the number of problems that the System File Checker finds, you will have to reboot and run the tool multiple times. The actual number will depend on how many problems are found and their severity.

There comes a point, however, when you have to concede and perform a clean installation. In your case, I think this will be your best option.

Read through this. Go to Method 2 Step 6. Do you have one of these on your hard drive?
System Restore
System Image Recovery

If so Go back to Step 1 in Method 2 and give it a try.
Try both if one doesn't work.

Did you try using the the "Last Know Good Configuration" command?

Hit F8 when booting, and try that, Also try Safe Mode..

Unfortunately, both the "Last Know Good Configuration" and Safe Mode choices lead me to Startup Repair...

Why is Windows unable to find WHAT'S wrong? because the Startup Repair does not find a single error.

You either have System Restore points that work or not. This may work.
You have a System Image or not. This should work if you have one.

you know, if you would have just reinstalled windows last night, your other computer would already be working.

The guys are right, most probability is that you are getting a massive system file corruption everytime you boot... maybe the MBR is corrupted and the ntfs file system will not work properly... in that cases, is very limited what windows repair will do for you, just because it only restores files, configurations or regitry entries... unless you maybe try to repair your MBR and see if that gets your system to boot...

Anyway, after all this, maybe critical stuff now is corrupted in such a way that you will propebly need to do a clean install anyway, for example, if you manage (in some miraclous way) to boot, the system will be unstable and give you errors from time to time...

In short... maybe if you repair the MBR, the system repair will buzz away, try to do that, and then a chkdsk, if the problem persists, you will need to reinstall your windows. Don't worry for the price, anyway you paid for the licence, just ask for reactivation by phone and you are set up! Remember that computing and OSes are suceptible of failures, and sometmes, you need to reinstall if you want your system working properly... In years in this business, I know what I'm telling you

Forgive me for this, if you feel it is too obvious!
Have you tried booting into the menu options (F8, whilst booting) and merely selecting Start normally from the options. It has often been enough for me.
