Next time you loose connection, do an IPconfig /all right then.
See if the setings have changesd at all from when the connectoin is working fine.
The only other thing (besides the apple/adobe software issue and it can happen with ANY apple or adobe software install, nnot just itunes and photoshop) is that /maaaaybe/ your ehternet adapter is going to sleep on you. You can go into the advanced power settings and turn off all sleep on the ethernet adapter but that's more of a long shot.
