Hi Gunny.

Honestly, I don't really understand the point of Outlook Connector. It should be an Outlook tool, add-on, that makes it possible to use Hotmail (Live) mail accounts with Outlook. I have never installed and tested this Outlook Connector, so I can not tell you how or if it works; I'm getting my Hotmail and Live mail messages to Outlook without Connector, with no problems. Both when using IMAP and POP3 settings.

I posted a request for help with link to this thread in a closed area of Seven Forums, available only for senior members, where we have a thread especially to ask other geeks to come to help when we feel we are out of ideas. That nobody came here with fresh ideas can only mean this issue of yours is so special no one of my fellow gurus knows how to solve it. I've been using Outlook since version 97, almost 14 years now, and Live Mail and its predecessors Windows Mail and Outlook Express from early beta days, and I have never heard of this kind of behavior before.

I'm a bit sad I am not able to help you. My last tip is this: uninstall Windows Live completely from your computer, reboot Windows, and reinstall Windows Live. Set up your Live account in newly installed Live Mail and try.

If that's not working, maybe your idea of creating a completely new Live account is the only way out of this situation.

Hi Kari

Hey don't feel bad in the least, you gave it a heck of a run there. I really thought we was going to solve it. I appreciate you going above and beyond on this. And thanx for asking your friends to help.

My wife keeps saying I come up with the strangest problems, ha ha maybe she is right.

Ya I un-intsalled that Outlook Connector just to see, and I don't see any diff, I guess it does something. :-)

I haven't used them for that long but have used all the versions of Outlook for some time and WLM for at least 3 years, I guess I started using it right after it went to Live mail. And used both of them separate for at least 2 years. But all it took was having them together for a week to mess things up.

I just did what you suggested about deleting WLM this morning. I thought I would give it one more try, no luck, same problem. Now one question about that I just thought of.

I am pretty sure I did remove all of it, like 99% sure. When I was done with the install, it did not ask me for my address or my password. I thought that was strange, it just picked up where it left off it looked like. But the install did not say anything about a previous version, or anything like that, and the install looked real, I did not install the Messenger and all the other crap, I just put a check on Live mail.

I was just sitting here now thinking of doing the new account route. I am getting the notices of your reply to the forum on my WLM, because I think Yahoo will not allow them. And I have a few other forums that are that way, that would be a problem with a new account.

Thanx.....Gunny

Hi All

Well I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is it is fixed....
biggrin.gif

And the bad news is I am really really upset with my self, for several diff reasons. I am disappointed in myself for being really stupid, and upset for taking all of you good people's time. And those that want me on their friend list might want to take that offer back, after I tell you how I fixed it. I pride my self in being really thorough in my thinking and, trying things to fix problems. And when I say I have done so in following your suggestions, you can take it to the bank. The only thing that might get in the way of this is if I don't have a clear understanding of your suggestion. I try to keep a smooth running, and bug free computer all the time. And try to fix things before asking for help.

Now here is what I did to fix it. I think I have gone to this page before but I know I did not click on the things I did a little bit ago to solve this problem.

I opened WLM and up on the ribbon the very last item is an Icon with your name, and I clicked on it and one of the selections was View account info, so I did so. Then you have to sign in, and one of the selections down toward the bottom of the page is Windows live options, so I clicked on that and the next page gave you a selection of General, Mail, Spaces and Privacy. So I clicked on Mail, and the next choice was sending and receiving mail from other accounts, and when I clicked on that another page opened and low and behold right in front of my eyes was my Sbcglobal address, and gave you the choice of edit or remove, so I clicked on remove and it asked me if I wanted to do this and I clicked yes. The address went away, so I proceeded to send my self mail, just to see what would happen, and I got the mail in my Outlook mail but not in the WLM like before, it was fixed.

I was even ashamed to tell my wife about this, I could not believe it. I know how much time I have put in, and knowing that makes this really tough to take. And if that is not embarrassing enough just me knowing this, but to have to tell people on a forum, makes it double tough.

Well my apology goes out to all of you that tried helping me on this. I hate eating Crow..( pass the salt and pepper please )

Thanx.....Gunny

:) Don't worry, Gunny. We've all been there. Main thing is to get it sorted, find the reason.

Merry Christmas.

Hehehe. Gunny, I dare not even share some of the stupid things I've done on a PC.......like the time I spent 10 minutes convincing myself I had fried the PSU, only to discover the PC was unplugged from the wall socket......your oversight is nothing.

Its sorted, so...Merry Christmas:D

You know, i was thinking about this a couple nights ago because I remained subscribed to this thread to see what the outcome would end up being, yet I tossed it away thinking that was already done. After reading through real quick and realizing that wasn't checked I was all "holy S, I think I GOT IT!"

Turns out you beat me to it. I guess I shouldn't have started drinking so heavily when it came to me. Some of my best PC revolutions come to me when booze swims in mah tummeh!

Hi All

Well I really feel bad at waisting your and my time like this, lord only knows there are more important things to be doing. And I thought I was more thorough then this. And so many of you. were telling me this was impossible, this should have been telling me to search further. My address has to be in there, that is the only way this will happen.

Well if we all lived closer I sure would like to treat you all to a great lunch. I did not expect the wrath of what ever to be put on me, but I thought I would at least be banned from the forum for sure. :-)

All I can say under the circumstances is I really appreciate you all helping me on this. I am sure this will not be the last problem I will ever have, so be prepared. I am going to start another post dealing with getting a certificate warning every time I open Outlook mail or send one. This has been going on ever since I have been using Outlook. So I will let you all have a nice Holiday season for now, and I will post this with pictures after the 1st of the year.

So I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Years..... Gunny

Merry Christmas, Gunny.

And BTW, We're all closet trolls (some of us rather open about it). I know I come here when I have nothing to do so no worries.
