Windows boots and results in BSOD

Hi,
Yesterday my laptop (Acer Aspire 7552G) with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 has been shut down and after couple minutes I turned it on once again.

System boots till I see glamorous logo and text: Starting Windows, it takes longer than usually and in result a BSOD appears:

When I try to run safe mode, loading of the drivers stop at:
LOADED: \Windows\system32\drivers\AtiPcie.sys

I tried solutions from other threads such as renaming drivers but it was not effective.

I have to mention than none of Recovery methods work. Recovery Disk x64 for Win7 boots up, asks for language and input, and then there is just wallpaper and cursor to move, no windows, no options, nothing happened during 8 hours. Same thing happens when booting up Installation disc and clicking Repair my computer. The tool to repair boot up problems in installed OS (the one which I can run from that text menu where it asks if I want to run the system normally or if I want to use that tool) does the same thing as those which I described before.

I have Ubuntu installed so if there are any files which I can modify to repair this I can do it but I don't know how.

Please help me, thanks for further replying and sorry for my language mistakes.

since you can use ubuntu to get into windows we need the actual DMP file created when windows crashed

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

There is no Minidump folder in Windows directory. I already rebooted, windows crashed and there is still no such folder. As follows no DMP file.

Besides during the BSOD no data is being dumped so it's impossible to aquire such file, right ?

I tried all options which appear after pressing F8 during the boot, none are working.
I don't know at which driver does the loading of Safe Mode stops and I don't know how to find out which one is it.

What you describe is typical of GRUB corrupting Win7 beyond repair. Best to multi-boot on separate HD's via the BIOS.

It should be reparable from WinRe using Startup Repair to SysRestore since it is hanging on ATI Display driver. However you're not able to get into WinRE likely due to GRUB corruption.

Copy out your files using Ubuntu then wipe the HD of GRUB to clean reinstall without Ubuntu, or add another HD to do your clean reinstall upon with old one unplugged during install. After install, boot preferred via BIOS Boot Order and other using one-time BIOS Boot Menu key which every computer has.

I removed Ubuntu. How can I now remove GRUB, restore MBR from Win7 ?

Vista DVD is not booting, Windows DVD is not booting. Only Linux works, I'm exhausted, dunno what to do.

As I said, it's likely GRUB has corrupted Win7.

You can troubleshoot why the Win7 DVD is not booting. Try burning a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html to see if it will boot. Next try using the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key to trigger DVD or CD.

Another option is to burn free Partition Wizard bootable CD, mark Win7 partition Active, then from Disk tab Rebuild MBR.

I tried with that programme but after rebuilding MBR I got a message after POST: BOOTMGR is missing, press ... to restart.

I also tried to make the partition active but it didn't help. DVD's still hangs after pressing REPAIR or INSTALL after a successful boot of the insterted disc.

I made all partitions Not Active and install dvd is running great, recovery cd also, but they both don't find the system on the hard drive.

But acording to "not bootgin up", all recovery cd's, installation DVD's are booting up but after clicking Repair Option I only see wallpaper with my mouse cursor. Nothing shows up.

Shoul I load drivers on the USB and give them during the repair process when the tool asks for those ?


What now ?
