Hello all, just registered on this forum though I've used the knowledge base here for years. However this time I can't fix it myself and I need your help.

In short, last week, I was updating and installing a lot of drivers/programs. Among them was Asus AI suite 3 that used to cause me shutdown problems when I tried using it earlier this year. After I've done all the installing etc. It would restart and shutdown no problem. Now, heres the strange bit. If I turn on my computer and then restart/shutdown it after 5 mins ish, theres is no problem.

If I were to use my computer normally and/or leave on for 5+ hours, I will try to shut it down or restart. This is where I get the problem, the windows shutting down screen will pop up, I can physically see the 'busy' marker on my computer light up for abit, then my keyboard mice will power down and have no light. However, it will hang/stall on this screen for 20-30 minutes before Restarting(even when it was set to shutdown).

This has occurred many times over this week and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything short of a complete format and reinstalling windows and I'm getting desperate. Windows support was not helpful and all they did was a system restore which did not go back far enough.

Now I'm fairly sure this is caused by something I installed within this week, I've used dm log collecter and am attaching the file. the 2015 minidumps are old and should be ignored, the most recent 2016 ones are the ones that contain the crash. I should actually have more of those but in the evenings I just want to sleep and can't wait 20-30 mins for a shutdown to restart then shutdown again so I just hold down the power button for 5 seconds (mobo power kill).

Bsod error I captured in screenshot after the restart.

I hope the good denizens of this forum can help me, thanks

Thank you! I'll go update that driver and will keep you informed. All my drivers come from the Asus website and unfortunately they tend to mess up with the ones from other companies.

Right, I found the problem, it seems that the drivers that Asus have on their website are borked. Its been reported on their forums that their intel drivers don't install properly, like in my case causing crashes. I had to download ME_SW_MSI_11.0.10.1002 from the intel website itself and once installed, solved the problem. My computer shuts down properly now.

Thanks again Axe0 for taking the time to take a look at the files, saved me doing a full format install.
