would like to run two win7 environments

about a year ago, I puchased win7 ultimate in order to run an XP mode as well.
I understand this is accomplished through virtualization. That worked well for me minus few graphic glitches. However, now I need to run two separate win7 environments. How do I do that? The VM set up goes right away to my XP mode environment .. is there a way to set another environment? How?

I use VMware works great usually you can just run the image from an ISO to install the guest operating system on the host system, use it for trying out software etc.

Hi Tomek, welcome to the Seven Forums

I have had 3 virtual machines running at the same time XP Pro 64 bit, Server 2008 R2, and Windows 7 basic and you just open the virtual drive and you good to go i usually let it install right from the iso image in most instances. others you have to set up the machine and then install from your install disc. I would give it a try go to there web sit and read about it a little before you install. Here is link to the one I use

It worked great. Initially there was an issue with a very small display window, but once I installed the VM Tools it was corrected.

Glad it works for you I got hooked with the virtual machines and run different operating systems when i am having problems with a system that is not right in front of me so to know what i am talking about with the customer i install the same operating system as they are running on my virtual drive and troubleshoot from there over the phone if needed.

This way, you can easily do a Windows 7 vm on top of your host Windows 7, the apps and configurations will be exactly same as your host os, the only difference would be hardware devices, as the vm must use virtual deivices.

This will provide you a quick way of doing a sandbox so you can run all apps securely. The creation process of such a vm takes a couple of minutes, without using any external sources (no ISO, no cdrom, etc.)
