So, I was just wondering how I could get my laptop to connect to the network that is connect to my desktop that has win 7 installed on it. I'm trying to get the printer attached to it to talk with my mother's laptop that has win xp on it. Could someone please give me a pointer for that kind of connection?

Um I have the same thing LOL my moms laptop is on XP and uses my printer ha ha. Easy fix man.

Setup the homegroup on your computer, make it to share printer, etc. Then in homegroup settings, disable 'password protected sharing'.

Just double check the workgroups as well, to make sure they're both on the same one.

Then go into Network and see if you can see your moms laptop appear on their. Same on her laptop. If that works, then just double check the printers share name and yea :)

Just ask her again if you need any more help!

Hey and welcome

We could probably help you alot more if we had a ton more info. Like your laptop (make, OS, connect via wireless or wired), your printer wired w/ ip or shared, desktop make model, OS, 32 bit or 64, mothers laptop, etc. You could also fill in your "system specs" in user CP

Waiting for info

Ken
