Hello,

I have an HP laptop which I recently upgraded from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7.

The flash drive (Lexar Firelfy 2GB) I was using on the XP OS can no longer be read under the W7 OS.

Information are stored in it (I am able to access it with computers other than mine), but my computer does not see them.

I have also tried different flash drives with the same results.

Under disk management, my computer detects the flash drive but is unable to read it.

Help!

What do you have the flash drive formatted as? Also, does the flash drive have a letter next to it in disk management?

I formatted the flash drive under FAT32. I have tried to select different letters for the drive. I have tried all 4 USB drives on my computer. The current configuration attributes letter "E" to the flash drive

What happens when you attempt to assign it a lettter? Is there any specific reason you have the drive formatted as FAT32?

I was told by the flash drive manufacturer (Lexar) to do so (FAT32). Also, when I assign it a letter, it provides me with an error message stating "incorrect parameter"

As far as FAT32 is concerned thats fine, because its only a 2gb flash drive. [Just for reference: FAT32 can't handle files bigger than 4gb]. I saw you said you tried 4 other flash drives, none of them work in your PC? Also, when you go to my computer what letters are assigned to devices?

Hey I was hoping someone could help me w/ a similar problem. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. I was organizing a lot of the files on my USB Flash drive and everything was working fine. But out of nowhere now my USB Flash drive isnt being read by my laptop NOR my desktop  I tried plugging in some of my other Usb Flash drives and it is reading them Just fine. What happened to my USB flash drive? Is there anyway I can salvage what is inside of them? Any help would be very useful...I'm not very pc savvy so please explain this to me like you would a child. I would hate to lose what I have inside my USB since its a lot of old family pictures
