Was the OP originally on a netbook? I noticed netbook somewhere in this thread . . . because netbooks have no support chipset wise for more than 2GB, at least the standard Atom ones I know of.

My only point has been that it is either a bug or cpuz is getting its info from somewhere other than hardware. I am only saying, I don't know the answer.

I too believe it's either a bug, or compatibility issue with the netbook (reading the hardware). However note too that Jimbo was using an older version of CPU-Z (1.52) the latest version is 1.56. Maybe this one will show the correct info, again baring a compatibility issue.

Would be interesting to see what Jimbo has to say regarding updated CPU-Z reading.

BTW I'm only stating how CPU-Z is supposed to work. I don't know why it's reading different on his netbook either - my guess is compatibility or bug.

Yeah, latest has been 1.57.1 for quite some time now.

Try CPU Tweaker. It has more info. This a hardware tweaking app. So don't change anything. Much better than CPU-Z.
