I've uninstalled avast and enabled driver verifier, do I need to wait till I get another blue screen or see if it is fine for 24 hours like it says in the how to? If I have to wait 24 hours I hate going without an antivirus. Your answers are appreciated, thanks.

still getting the nvstor64.sys blue screen after I updated the storage drivers, I did put Avast back on, could Avast really be the problem for something like this? I have just had a lot more luck with Avast than AVG on free antiviruses, but if I am forced to change I guess i will have to for this computer.

well I did a repair install and no problems popped up till last night. last night I could move the mouse but couldn't like click on the start menu button. I could right click in the toolbar but couldn't click to get into task manager or any other option in the menu. Today I come home, I hit a button it comes awake but I could do nothing with keyboard or mouse, I couldn't get the numlock on or anything. There hasn't been any blue screens though yet? Any ideas?

It could be a fault in RAM

11 passes of memtest86+ and no errors, I have a feeling it is a driver issue since I use to get the Driver Power State Failure BSOD alot but I just don't know why the repair or having the latest driver from the nvidia wouldn't fix it.

Fresh Install with Windows 7 Home Premium x64

I am still having problems after fresh install, already had a blue screen and it won't even let me install service pack 1, it is giving me the error Error_Not_Found (0x80070490) when the service pack fails. Very frustrating, but hopefully we can get to the bottom of the problem. Attached are my new logs after fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium x64

ASACPI.sys the 2005 version is a huge cause of BSODs

The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "
ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005)

Please remove Avast, it is still installed on your system

I accomplished that task it is up to the 2009 version, any ideas why SP1 won't install? I had Avast all the way disabled as you could probably see in my logs and SP1 still isn't installing.

it is giving me the error Error_Not_Found (0x80070490) when the service pack fails and one options it recommends is turn off anti-virus when I have already done.
