I am using Outlook 2007. I am trying to send a reply to an email but everytime I click send it goes to the Outbox. I can not re-send from the Outbox and I have moved it to the Drafts Folder but if I re-send from there it goes back to the Outbox. I have looked in Help but can't see anything. There aren't any attachments. What is the problem and what is the Outbox for please? Any help appreciated.

It is suppossed to go to Outbox, then once sent it goes to Sent Items folder... double check the addresses, etc. Also, is this a newly setup Outlook mail account, or???

Help me help you! :D

*I'm curious... How long have you been using Outlook 2007 for?
Have you had any problems sending emails before?

*The usual procedure to send an email manually is -
Create email > select send > email goes to Out Box > Tools > Send Receive > Send Receive All / Send All. > email ends up in Sent Items.

If the above doesn't work check your Contact Address Book to see that your Contact's email addresses are indeed listed.

Create and send a text message - Outlook - Office.com

*IF the above information is not what you were after & your email is genuinely "stuck" refer the solutions in the link below.

Thank you Darryl and JMH. So the Outbox is nothing more than part of the route that an email takes in the sending process? I have been using Outlook for years and I have never known this happen before. I was replying to an email so the address was already present but I have checked and it was correct. The email I was replying to was part of an exchange that comprised about ten emails. I deleted the email from the outbox without any trouble (the original was still in the inbox) and tried to reply again but the same thing happened. So I sent a new email without any problems.

I have just replied to another email this morning without any problems so perhaps it was just one of those things!!!

Thanks for your help.

Judesman.
