Hello,

I wouldn't call myself an advanced user but I'm not exactly a beginner either. The major problem I'm currently having is that I'm attempting to dual boot the Windows 7 pre-installed on my laptop (HP dm3) with the née Windows 8 developer's build. I partitioned the drive and installed Windows 8 on the partition without a problem but unlike every guide seems to suggest, I do not guet some screen that says "Boot Options" in that metro style when I boot up. Instead the computer goes straight into Windows 8. I've tried a clean install ( I used the restore disk that HP includes) to bring back a fresh version of Windows 7 and then went through the whole process again but to no avail. Any help (please be as detailed as possible) would be appreciated.

If you can't think of a solution then can someone explain how to set up a virtual drive (or VPN - I'm guessing at names here) to install Windows 8 on.

This might be a good excuse to give them something to do over on Windows8 Forum :)

Correct, install EasyBCD to the booting OS to add the other one. The version linked is still free.
