Yes but I can't boot my computer to do that. And can't find anyone running win 7.

But do you think a boot disk will fix my issue being the physical drive seems to be OK based on the test results?

No everyone seems to either have older windows or a Mac. Even my dad's running XP so he can't even do this for me UGH!!

You think best buy or staples would make boot disks for customers (Paid for of course!!)

You can ask them, it can't hurt. The worse they can do is say no.

If all else fails, you can buy one on e-bay, but make sure it is a reputable source.

OK Cool just hope this fixes it as could careless about the computer itself is an issue of recovering the files. But if I can safe both is a bonus!!!

Where do you live the Outer Herbides? You can always go to the local computer store and explain your predicament. Unless you are the exact oppostie of Dale Carnegie then I'm sure you will find s store to help you.

I Live in NYC but have been trying to do as much of this as I can reason been posting here to get some basic things answered. And seems if I can just get my hands on a boot disk maybe things will be A-OK again!!!

As for getting the disk just have not had chance to get to one yet as been tied up most the week at the dentist office getting implants done OUCH!!!
