Windows 7 RTM In Late July 2009

Speculation on the deadline at which Microsoft will release Windows 7 to manufacturing not only abounds but also continues. It all started early in June 2009, when Microsoft revealed that it planned to launch the next iteration of the Windows client to the public on October 22. At that time, Brandon LeBlanc, Windows communications manager on the Windows Client Communications Team, stated that “Release To Manufacturing (RTM) is an important milestone on the path to GA. We anticipate that we’ll be able to make the RTM code for Windows 7 available to our partners sometime in the 2nd half of July. We also expect to be able to make RTM code for Windows Server 2008 R2 available to our partners in this time frame as well.” Now the Redmond company is saying that Windows 7 RTM will be closer to the end of July.

Actually, 14/7 on Connect Official Beta Testers and Momentum closed groups
14-15/7 First wave to Subscribers on Technet/MSDN followed by a second 22/7 and a third 1/8 due to network load expected these days.

No Plans so far for MSDNAA.

Softpedia might actually be right if they mean Official Channels Distribution which is as you see actually Late July most.

Whats so bad about Softpedia? I've been relying on them for 2 years now, and nothing but correct information comes out consistently. They usually have information no one else talks about too.

mostly softpedia just quotes stuff from other sites and a lot of their information was wrong ... when i followed it or their sources were wrong. So I do not think its a very reliable site... but everyone can judge for himself.

I cant understand the big rush for wzor to leak the RTM ... there wont be any keys available for them for a month or so....

Becuase all the cool people want to have something before the rest of the world does, plus people can always use the built in re-arm command few times.
