Solved Any System Monitor Gadgets that DON'T have a memory leak?

I've been on the quest for a good system monitor gadget that doesn't hemorrhage RAM like a hemophiliac running through a thorn bush.

All the ones that work good spool up RAM. For example, I really like the CPU Meter III G.5 but running it will eat up all my RAM over enough time. I forgot to keep an eye on it once and it spooled up over 9 GB of ram.

So how about it sevenforms? What gadgets have you found that don't drain your RAM?

I was just looking for something that had System Up Time, RAM usage, and core activity. I found one finally that didn't have a memory leak, but it's missing the system uptime.

All the one's I tried on window's site that had a system uptime feature slowly robbed my RAM.. even one that did nothing BUT system uptime.

I would think that. Except most of the gadgets that have just ram and core activity leak RAM too! Oh well. The one I found isn't as cool as the speedometer looking ones i was using before, but it does the job..

I've got a leaky gadget of my own, and this thread makes me suspect the system monitor I'm using. No uptime in mine, either, but the Windows Sidebar starts out at about 80MB and slowly grows over time to as much as I'll let it before I bite the bullet and restart.

Not to derail the OP's thread (I hope), but the one Corazon recommended looks good except for the fact that I'd miss the battery (UPS) monitor in the one I'm using. (All CPU Meter.) Of course, it might be one of the other four causing the trouble, though they are all basic: date/time/notes/weather.

I use 2 system monitoring gadgets, the Core Temp gadget, and Sysinfo gadget. I have never noticed any memory leaks. I also have GPU monitor, a weather gadget, and a recycle bin gadget.

Who is using the sidebar? Could that be the common thread here?

Was under the impression all gadgets used sidebar.exe, mine do. A Guy

Yeah, all gadgets run under sidebar.exe in the taskmanager. For each one you add, it gets bigger. When I first noticed the memory leak, I went through and closed all of the gadgets that were running.

Sidebar.exe will vanish from your Task manager and then you can start one gadget at a time, watching the ram to see if that gadget continuously makes the sidebar.exe's RAM get bigger and bigger.

I did not know that about the sidebar; I seem to recall having to install it separately, though that may have been during the beta period.

As far as I know, this is correct. All the gadgets run under the sidebar.exe process. The more you run, the larger the process is.

Have you thought about http://rainmeter.net/cms/ there are all kinds of skins out there and it is very customizable.
Here is one skin I have that I think has what you're looking.
